Srushti Raghavendra’s Journey
Srushti Raghavendra pauses our interview politely, sipping her beverage intermittently. She is an outstanding young Kannada actress. When we connect, Srushti reflects thoughtfully on her journey. “I feel moved and chosen,” she begins, her voice sweet. “I wasn’t expecting this at all, nor did I think I should be a candidate. It’s a pleasant surprise that people see my work and find inspiration in how I engage with film, envisioning what cinema could potentially be like in the future.”
Srushti has been making waves in the fashion world with her exotic looks and notable social life. She is known for her sense of style and loves to embody the characters she admires when it comes to dressing up. Speaking about her passion, “Movies are such a big inspiration for me fashion-wise. I’ll watch a film, and my style will reflect the character I’m obsessed with! If I watch *Breakfast at Tiffany’s,* I’ll wear black dresses and ballet flats for the next few days.”
Having gained stardom from television, Srushti encourages aspiring actors to pursue opportunities in all mediums and not to shy away from starting their careers in advertising. “Working in a film is a dream for every actor, and you should never hesitate to begin your journey with ads. You never know when an opportunity may arise to transition from modelling to film,” Srushti advises.
With her captivating looks and impressive body of work, she is also passionate about fitness. Srushti understands the dedication required to maintain her lithe and graceful figure, working hard to uphold her striking appearance. “Indian cinema boasts a rich history of actors who have successfully transitioned from commercials to films,” she notes. Although many directors and producers have approached her, she remains patient and selective when taking on new roles. Focused and determined, Srushti aims to climb to the pinnacle of success with her patience, talent, and beauty.
“In this industry, no work is too small or insignificant. Whether it’s television, OTT platforms, or films if given an opportunity, seize it. You never know what destiny has in store for you,” the actress emphasizes. Srushti is now all set to make her Kannada film debut with “DVIJA.”
We sat down with the fashion icon to discuss her inspirations and drive.
Do you follow fashion trends? How do you put together an outfit in the morning?
“I wouldn’t say I follow fashion trends. I dress based on how I feel. I’m an emotional dresser, guided by what I need to express for the day. If I’m feeling rebellious, sexy, or floral, that’s what I embrace. I find it to be very creative; following trends often feel uninspired to me because it dictates what I should wear.”
What did your parents think about your desire to become an actress?
“I was really lucky that my parents encouraged my creativity and followed my lead. My mom often reminds me, ‘You need to learn a trade,’ but she also respects my artistic expression through acting. She let me grow my wings and do my thing.”
