Genelia Deshmukh’s cobalt blue sari is crafted with a GI-tagged technique.

Genelia Deshmukh turned heads in a stunning cobalt blue Ilkal sari while promoting Riteish Deshmukh’s upcoming film, Raja Shivaji. Crafted with the renowned GI-tagged technique from Karnataka, this sari features the intricate tope teni method, in which the body and pallu are seamlessly joined through delicate loops. Exclusive to the Bagalkot district and awarded the G.I tag in 2007, it epitomises regional craftsmanship. The vibrant red border, adorned with gold tode paras arranged in a triangular pattern, beautifully frames the ensemble, while the silver geometric detailing on the pallu adds a contemporary touch.

She complemented her look with timeless temple jewellery—gold necklaces accented with pearls, green-hued jhumkas, and colourful glass bangles that echo the sari’s rich hues of red, blue, and gold. Her traditional styling was perfectly executed: a sleek, centre-parted bun wrapped with a gajra, sharp eye makeup, a rosy lip, and a classic red bindi with sindoor finishing the look.
